Curacao is the largest island of the Dutch Antilles. Curacao has a lot to offer for holiday-makers. This tropical island in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea has a rich culture and history. Besides that you can enjoy the white sandy beaches, the blue seas and the pleasant climate. With these factors you are guaranteed to enjoy a fantastic holiday! 

Landscape
The island is 63 kilometres long and 11 kilometres wide. The south coast consist of bays and curls and long strained beaches on the westside. Along the south coast recline the gold-coloured beaches, where you can sunbath and swim. The north east coast of Curacao is rough and rocky. In the Northwest you can find the highest point of the island, Christoffel Mountain, named after the same called National Park. You can easily explore Curacao by car. Curacao has an excellent infrastructure: the roads are in good condition and the road signing is very clear.

Climate
Located in the tropics, Curaçao has a warm, sunny climate year round. The average temperature is about 27° C (in the mid 80s F). The rainy season, which is between October and February, is usually marked by short, occasional showers, mostly at night, and continued by sunny weather during the day. 

Culture
Curacao has a lot of cultural sites to offer. Nowhere in the world you can find so many beautiful restored 17th and 18th century Dutch colonial buildings. The restored mansions at Scharloo and Pietermaai date from the seventeenth century and are extremely lovely. These neighbourhoods, together with the historical centre of Willemstad and Schottegat and the largest natural harbour of the Caribbean Sea are put on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.  

Willemstad
Willemstad is the pleasant capital of Curacao. The colourful architecture is mainly in the 17th century building style. Places of interest are among others the harbour, the fortress, the pontoon bridge, the old synagogue, the various museums. The pastel coloured merchant houses, the floating market and old neighbourhoods like Otrabanda and Punda. You can shop until you drop in Punda and there are a lot of opportunities to go out. 

Diving
Curacao is really one of the most interesting diving spots in the world. The water is incredibly clean and pure. Close to the shore you will find brilliant coral reefs. A glimpse over the shallow reef forms already a breathtaking view. When you reach across the reclining reef to the deeper areas, you will see one of Curacao?s largest and impressive sight. Curacao: is the ideal holiday-spot for divers!
